The Central States Numismatic Society Convention is one of the leading coin and currency collecting events in the United States. It features three separate and distinct major Signature Sales of numismatic rarities cataloged and conducted by Heritage Auctions, of Dallas, Texas. One sale will focus on rare U.S. coins, another on U.S. paper money, and, added in 2019, a third focuses on foreign and ancient coins and foreign paper money. The addition of a foreign and ancient Heritage Signature Sale compliments the 2019 addition of a dedicated world and ancient section to the 300+ booth bourse area, which features dealers from 40+ states. New for 2020, will be the inclusion of the Professional Currency Dealers Association sponsored National Currency Convention, featuring the rare currency specialist members of that now 35 year old trade association. In addition, there will be a world class judged educational exhibit area, as well as club meetings and educational programs and seminars.
The 300+ booth dealer bourse area, a central feature of the 81st Anniversary Convention, will operate in accordance with the following schedule:

At any major numismatic event, there are a number of features and activities, that although an essential part of the overall experience, by their very nature can not be self sustaining. Thanks to the generosity of progressive members of the numismatic community, a number of these convention features have been made possible or enhanced by sponsorships undertaken by firms and individuals deserving of special recognition from the collecting fraternity. Booth holder convention sponsors are identified by special signage in their booths, as well as special ribbons attached to their convention credentials:
Please check this space regularly to view our growing list of sponsors for our 2020 81st Anniversary Convention.
Without the generosity of our convention sponsors, a number of the enhancements that make the Central States Numismatic Society convention a special event would not be possible. Our President and Board join the entire convention staff in extending our thanks for their selfless support. If you’ll be attending the convention in person, please take a moment to visit their booths, all marked with special signage, to thank them in person. To learn how you can become a convention sponsor please contact Convention Chairman Kevin Foley at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling him at (414) 807-0116
Rooms have been blocked for convention attendees at the Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel, directly connected to the immediately contiguous convention center.
Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel
1551 North Thoreau Drive
Schaumburg, IL 60173
Call the hotel at (847) 303-4100 and mention rate code “Central States Numismatic 2020” to receive our special rate. Parking is complimentary. Please note that once a reservation is made, two nights, the first and the last, will not be subject to cancellation and will be charged as a non-refundable deposit. Reservations cancelled within six weeks of the arrival date will be charged for the entire stay.
It has become necessary to adopt this cancellation policy in order to deter the practice of overbooking and then canceling just prior to arrival, a behavior that has inconvenienced many attendees in the past by making rooms unavailable to them at the Renaissance. This practice also exposes the Central States Numismatic Society to substantial liability for failure to meet our contractual sleeping room production guaranty to the Renaissance Hotel and jeopardizes our ability to contract with the hotel and convention center in the future.
Rooms may also be booked at the Renaissance on line via the following link:
